Schengen Application Form
The official application form must be accurately completed, printed from the portal, and signed in two designated places. For any applicant under the age of 18, both parents or legal guardians must provide their signatures.
Valid Passport
Your passport must possess a validity that extends for a minimum of three months beyond your scheduled departure date from the entire Schengen area. It must have been issued within the last 10 years and must contain at least two entirely blank pages for the visa sticker and stamps.
Passport Photos
You must supply two recent color photographs, taken within the last six months. These must be 35mm x 45mm in size, meet strict Schengen standards, and be taken against a plain, light background without obstruction.
Travel Medical Insurance
A valid travel medical insurance policy is mandatory and must cover the entire duration of your trip within all Schengen member states. The policy must guarantee a minimum coverage of €30,000 for all medical emergencies, hospitalization costs, and repatriation.
Proof of Travel (Itinerary)
This includes confirmed reservations for a round-trip ticket that clearly shows your entry into and exit from the Schengen Area. Furthermore, a detailed travel program outlining your day-to-day tourist activities and movements within Austria and the zone is required.
Proof of Accommodation
Confirmed and verifiable hotel bookings for every night of your stay in the Schengen Area must be submitted. If you plan to stay with a resident, an official declaration (e.g., a formal letter or official invitation) from the host must be provided instead.
Proof of Financial Means
You must provide official bank statements covering the last three to six months, which should be stamped or verified by your bank. These documents are necessary to prove you possess sufficient funds to comfortably cover all costs during your stay and your eventual return home.
Proof of Employment / Ties to Home Country
Documents are needed to prove your intent to return. This includes a letter from your employer stating your position, salary, and approved leave dates, or for the self-employed, copies of business registration and tax documents. Students must submit a current enrollment certificate.
Proof of Legal Residence
If you are applying from a country where you are not a national, you must submit a valid residence permit. The validity of this permit must extend at least three months beyond your planned date of departure from the Schengen area.
Documents for Minors (Under 18)
Additional documents required include the minor’s original and copy of the Birth Certificate. If the minor is traveling without both parents, a notarized written consent letter from the non-accompanying parent(s) must also be included.
